Looking back, do you remember the moment you fell in love with music? Did you have a creative upbringing?

Music has always been a part of my life. I grew up in a household where music played constantly. I think the moment I truly fell in love with it was when I realised how powerful it could be for expressing emotions that I couldn’t put into words. That connection made me want to create my own music and share it with the world.

After your success with dance hits like ‘Love You Right Back,’ you’ve shifted to a more emotive pop sound with your upcoming EP, Unsent Love Letters Vol.1. What inspired this change in direction?

It felt like the right time to show a different side of myself. While I love the energy of dance music, I wanted to explore something more personal. Unsent Love Letters Vol.1 allowed me to delve into my own experiences and tell stories that felt raw and honest. Growth as an artist means evolving, and this EP is a reflection of that journey.

Can you tell us more about the creative process behind Unsent Love Letters Vol.1? How did you decide which personal stories to share through the EP?

The creative process for this EP was unlike anything I’ve done before. I started by revisiting real unsent love letters I’d written over the years, which helped me reconnect with those emotions in an incredibly raw way. When we took those ideas into the studio, the sessions became a kind of therapy. I worked with Tim Gosden and a few other close collaborators, and we’d have these deep conversations about love, heartbreak, and the lessons we take from those experiences.

It wasn’t just about writing music—it was about unpacking feelings and turning them into something meaningful. There were moments when I felt completely exposed, but that vulnerability was crucial to shaping the EP. The studio became a safe space where I could let my guard down and create from a place of honesty. That’s what made this project so special.

Unsent Love Letters Vol.1 feels like an intimate look at your emotional landscape. What do you hope your listeners take away from the EP, particularly those who may be going through their own struggles with love or self-worth?

I hope listeners find comfort and strength in these songs. Whether they’re navigating heartbreak or rediscovering their worth, I want them to know they’re not alone. Music has a unique way of healing, and if this EP can be part of that process for someone, it means everything to me.

‘Strangers’ is a beautiful, emotional track. How did the song come together, and what was the most important message you wanted to convey with it?

‘Strangers’ was born out of a moment of clarity during heartbreak. It’s about coming to terms with how someone who was once so close but now you wish you were strangers. The most important message is that finding closure and moving forward is a powerful act of self-love.

With each song on the EP being described as an “unsent love letter,” how does that theme shape the storytelling and emotional depth of the collection?

The theme gave me a framework to dive deep into specific moments and emotions. Each song feels like a snapshot of a chapter in my life—a letter that captures feelings I couldn’t express at the time. It adds layers of intimacy and vulnerability, inviting listeners to connect on a personal level.

Many of your lyrics explore themes of heartbreak, self-love, and empowerment. How has songwriting helped you process your own emotions through challenging times?

Songwriting is my therapy. It’s where I can be completely honest with myself and work through what I’m feeling. Taking something painful and turning it into a piece of art is so healing and knowing that my songs might help others with processing their feelings makes it even more meaningful.

Do you feel like this is the most vulnerable you’ve ever been as an artist? What kind of response do you hope to receive from fans?

Definitely! This EP is the most personal project I’ve ever created. I hope fans feel the honesty and connect with the stories in their own way. This is the most vulnerable I’ve ever been as an artist. The title Unsent Love Letters Vol.1 reflects how deeply personal these songs are—they’re like pages straight out of my diary. But there’s also a playful side to it. Some of the lyrics feel like a little payback to a few exes who may not have treated me well. It’s not about being vengeful, but more about reclaiming my narrative and saying things I might not have said in the moment. What I hope fans take away from this is that it’s okay to feel all the emotions and that those feelings can be transformed into something beautiful.

You’ve worked with incredible artists and producers like Tiësto, Alok, and Tim Gosden. How have these collaborations shaped your sound and musical identity?

Each collaboration has been a unique and inspiring experience, but working with Tiësto and Alok were pinch-me moments. These are artists that I admired and to have the chance to work with them felt surreal. Working with Tim Gosden was completely different because he really helped me tap into a more intimate and emotive sound. I’m just grateful for these experiences because they have expanded my range and deepened my understanding of who I am as an artist.

Tim Gosden’s production on Unsent Love Letters Vol.1 seems to have played a key role in the sound of the EP. Can you talk about your relationship with him and how his work influenced the final product?

Tim has an incredible ability to bring out the emotional core of a song. We worked closely to ensure the production complemented the storytelling, creating a soundscape that felt both cinematic and personal. His attention to detail and creative input helped to make the EP what it is today.

How do you balance the influence of your dance music background with the more vulnerable, pop-driven side of your current music?

It’s all about finding harmony. My dance background gives my music energy and drive, while the pop influences bring in vulnerability and storytelling. I love blending the two to create something that’s emotionally rich yet still makes you want to move.

The music video for ‘Strangers’ is as playful as it is powerful. How did the concept for the video come about, and what was the most fun part of filming it in your hometown of London?

The concept for the video stemmed from the idea of capturing a journey from heartbreak to empowerment. We wanted it to feel vibrant and dynamic, with London as a living, breathing backdrop. The most fun part was filming in some of the city’s iconic locations.

The day itself felt like a real adventure—trains, planes, and automobiles! We shot on all sorts of public transport, from the Underground to buses and river taxis. It was hectic, but it added so much authenticity to the video. There’s a certain energy to moving through London that you can’t replicate, and I think it really brought the story to life.

How much of your own life do you draw upon when creating music videos or performances? Do you find it challenging or cathartic to expose that side of yourself to the public?

I draw heavily from my own experiences—it’s what makes the music authentic. It can be challenging to expose such personal moments, but it’s also incredibly cathartic. Sharing my journey helps me heal and knowing it resonates with others makes it all worthwhile.

Looking ahead, how do you envision the next chapter of your career after Unsent Love Letters Vol.1? Do you have plans to continue exploring deeper, more personal themes in your future music?

The release of Unsent Love Letters Vol.1 feels like the start of something special, and I’m excited to keep that momentum going. I’m thrilled to share that Unsent Love Letters Vol.2 will be coming out in the New Year, diving even deeper into the themes of love, loss, and self-discovery. This second volume builds on the story, exploring a different side of these emotions while pushing the boundaries of my sound even further. I want to keep evolving as an artist, staying true to my experiences while connecting with listeners in a meaningful way.
