Born from small towns and spare time, Good Neighbours talk favourite artists and festival shows for their Amazon Music Breakthrough UK: Artists To Watch 2025 digital cover, in collaboration with NOTION.

Oli Fox and Scott Verril of Good Neighbours are making moves in an untapped sphere of the indie music landscape with each release of their eclectic, breezy sound. Born out of a previous dissatisfaction with their sonic endeavours, the band seamlessly blend elements of folk, rock, and pop to craft tropical-tinged, infectious music.

After gaining a fanbase with their first breakthrough record, ‘Home’, which went viral across socials, they took the UK by storm with a headline tour last Autumn. The duo are now gearing up to join Foster the People on their Paradise State of Mind tour across the US. Beyond their music, Good Neighbours embody a spirit of inclusivity and collaboration, focusing on spreading good vibes with their playful sound.

As they continue to expand their sonic palette and push creative boundaries, Good Neighbours are poised to become a defining voice in the indie scene with an energy that shows no signs of diminishing and an authentic passion for music. They’re certainly a collective to watch as they continue to carve their unique path in the industry.

Do you remember the moment you fell in love with music?

I think when you first play with a band as a kid, there’s an electricity to it that’s very addictive and hard to tear yourself away from.

Tell us a bit about your debut EP. What do you hope people take away from it?

I guess we hope people feel like they’ve discovered their new favourite band! This EP was us putting our vibe out into the world and trying to give all aspects of ourselves for everyone to wrap their ears around.

What are you manifesting for 2025?

We are manifesting our first album and hopefully plenty more festival shows!

Who are your ones to watch?

Alessi Rose and The Man The Myth The Meatslab. They are two friends that we think will smash 2025.

What is your dream venue to play this year?

Oooooo, probably Brixton Academy.

What’s the proudest moment of your career so far?

Brixton Electric was a great way to come home last year, to fill a room of that size in our first year felt nuts!

What do you hope people take away from your music?

A sense of “it’s okay to talk about anything”. We try and dress pretty intimate subjects with big bright productions so that it kinda opens up the conversation for people

What’s your most unexpected musical inspiration?

We take a lot of inspiration from film composers when we make music. People like Bryce Dessner is a particular favourite at the moment.

What song or album changed your perspective on making music?

Gone Now by Bleachers.

What’s next for you?

A very fun year and our debut album.
