We sat down with Nieve Ella for her Amazon Music Breakthrough UK: 2025 Artists To Watch digital cover, in collaboration with NOTION, to talk channelling personas and what she hopes people take away from her music.

Nieve Ella’s ascent to pop stardom has been nothing short of meteoric. Riding high on the success of her recent project, Watch It Ache And Bleed, the 21-year-old singer-songwriter is reaching dizzying feats, selling out headline tours and playing high profile festival fates in Europe. She is redefining what it means to be an artist today, serving music that’s a cathartic exploration of love, identity, and the tangled complexities of life.

With her haunting melodies and introspective lyrics, Nieve is inspiring a new generation to embrace their narratives and emotions. Rising from the West Midlands, she seeks inspiration from ’90s indie and contemporary pop, encapsulating the essence of youth while reconciling her ambition and desire. As she continues to carve her place in the industry, it’s clear she’s an artist to watch closely. Here, she opens up about what she’s manifesting for 2025 and the themes that fuel her creative fire.

Do you remember the moment you fell in love with music?

To be honest, I don’t remember a specific moment. Music has always been my biggest love. It’s always given me that euphoric feeling in my chest, even way back to my High School Musical obsession days.

Tell us a bit about Watch It Ache and Bleed. What do you hope people take away from it?

This EP is a collection of songs from a difficult time in my life, so I just hope that people can listen and resonate; I hope it brings light to some situations you may be going through that are quite tough. It’s really hard to understand your feelings or work on your happiness because and I think these songs represent that.

What are you manifesting for 2025?

More songs, more shows, new fans, new cities and general happiness.

Who are your ones to watch?

Erin LeCount, Saint Clair, Fred Roberts and Die Twice.

What is your dream venue to play this year?

I’m actually playing one of my dream venues on 12th March, headlining KOKO in Camden!

What’s the proudest moment of your career so far?

Selling out my first headline tour at the start of last year. It was one of the most rewarding and memorable experiences ever.

What do you hope people take away from your music?

A fuzzy feeling in your chest that ends in masses of inspiration, joy, security and overall a satisfying good feeling.

What’s your most unexpected musical inspiration?

The Minions soundtrack…

If you could channel the energy of anyone in 2025 whose would it be?

Gru from Despicable Me, that man’s a winner and has a great collection of scarfs.

What song or album changed your perspective on making music?

Grace by Jeff Buckley.

What’s next for you?

More music, more shows, I really wanna start a podcast. In general, more yapping!
