Listen to the new track from Liana Cornell, AKA færy, out now.

Liana Cornell, an Australian artist known for her multifaceted career in acting, filmmaking, and music, has revealed her new single ‘Anam Cara’ from her highly anticipated debut album Rising, due out in August. Performing under the moniker ‘færy’, Liana’s work merges spiritual pop with a deep commitment to mental and emotional wellness, marking a groundbreaking fusion of art and holistic self-care.

‘Anam Cara’, which translates to “soul friend” in Gaelic, explores the profound concept of self-love, inspired by ancient Celtic traditions. Liana describes the track as “an offering of the deepest love one can feel—the love of the self.” The song aims to start a conversation about the importance of self-love and how it forms the foundation for all other relationships.

Produced in Cornwall with London-based producer Will Vaughan, the track is crafted using the 639 Hz solfeggio frequency, known for its healing properties, particularly in fostering harmonious relationships. The ethereal composition, enriched with the delicate sounds of nature, reflects Liana’s artistic vision of merging music with wellness practices, creating a sound that is both grounding and transcendent.

Liana Cornell first gained recognition in the UK for her role in the TV series Britannia and later as an award-winning filmmaker for her documentary series Refugia. As ‘færy,’ her transition into music signifies a new creative chapter, blending her environmental advocacy with her artistic talents.

‘Anam Cara’ is the third single from Rising, following ‘blýth’ and ‘Ostara’, and is set to resonate deeply with listeners seeking both musical and emotional depth. The full album, scheduled for release on Halloween 2024, aims to redefine the landscape of spiritual pop and queer/femme-led music in a male-dominated industry.
