Louis III is the next artist for the Behind the Base series with PizzaExpress, making a La Reine while chatting about musical upbringing and influences.

Singer-songwriter Louis III joins PizzaExpress in the kitchen for the latest episode of Behind the Base.

Hailing from Croydon, South London, rising singer-songwriter Louis III is fast carving a path with his honest, candid lyrics and pop/R&B sound. Having hit it big on TikTok with his reworking of popular tracks, alongside his own original work, Louis has already found support from the likes of BBC’s Radio1 and 1Xtra.

Taking to the kitchen, Louis chooses to make a La Reine, one his favourite PizzaExpress pizzas. Chatting about his musical upbringing, the artists who inspire him, and his past experiences in modelling, Louis is candid about his influences.

Despite the previous career moves in fashion, Louis is passionate about his current path: describing, “I just love the feeling I get from music.”

Taking to the stage in Holborn, Louis performs “Sad on Sundays”, a track he wrote about the feeling of being at a party, or enjoying your weekend, or being on holiday, and being sad that the experience is going to end.

He describes the songwriting process as helping him work through these feelings, and the therapeutic nature of his songs. Discover more below.
