The Australian pop icon presents the visuals for her latest banger.

Jessica Newham, or Betty Who as you’ll probably know her, is the Australian pop star firmly making her mark in the music biz. After catapulting to fame via her cover of Donna Lewis’ “I Love You Always Forever”, she’s solidly served up beats to get you on your feet.

Her latest offering, however, is a little more stripped back. “Between You & Me”, which feels like an acoustic masterpiece, is the first single from her impending album Betty, which is set to drop at the start of the year. “Between You & Me” is the first single from my new record Betty.  I wanted it to come first because it felt so reminiscent of my early singer-songwriter days,” Betty explains. “When I listen to it, I imagine that 15-year-old me would love this song.  Especially since it’s about not being able to put into words how you feel when you’re around the person you’re singing to.  It’s not a confession of love, it’s a voice in your head narrating your time with them.”

The video for the track explores a gay love story in which Betty plays both characters. Documenting the highs and lows of their relationship, the video has a festive feel with Christmas scenes aplenty – ’tis cuffing season after-all! With a powerful pro-LGBT message and striking visuals, the video is a definitely homage to the year two thousand and gayteen – and proves that next year is going to be just as epic for Australia’s rising pop heroine.
