IMONI returns with her own brand of dark R&B in new single "Cheap Dreams".

Essex singer-songwriter IMONI releases “Cheap Dreams”, a dark, dreamy track discussing the toxicity of unrealistic expectations.

Despite a three-year hiatus since arriving on the scene in 2017 with debut single “Money”, IMONI garnered huge acclaim with last year’s singles: “Energy” and “Hide & Seek”. Also capturing widespread attention this year through covers of UK Raps songs, her cover of “Clout Freestyle” by Nines got the attention of the man himself. Her first release of 2021 doesn’t disappoint. IMONI’s sultry vocals are key, combined with pulsing basslines in her distinct style.

After using lockdown to focus on her music and experiment with her sound, she worked with a local producer on her upcoming releases. The collaboration has led to a deeper, darker spin on R&B, hip-hop and neo-soul elements evident in her new single. As well as writing “Cheap Dreams”, IMONI also co-directed and co-edited the new music video.
