London newcomer, J-Onyx, brings the alpha-female energy with her latest single “Chop The Bummies”

Starting out, J-Onyx would rap casually to groups of friends before realising music was her calling. From there, she dropped her freestyles on Instagram which made the rounds, eventually catching the attention of KISS FM legends Shortee Blitz and DJ MK, who drummed up buzz around her name.

Since then, her success has snowballed. Exploding on the scene with her debut release “Can’t F With You” earlier this year, J-Onyx proved she was a serious contender, commanding attention with her assertive flow and sharp tongue. The support came flooding in – industry heavyweights such as BBC 1XTRA, Apple Music and Capital XTRA backed the track from the beginning.

Keeping up the momentum, J-Onyx teams up with producer Ty Metronome to deliver her straight-talking single “Chop The Bummies”. The rapper touches on the importance of who you surround yourself with and expresses her stance on sexualisation and independence, all the while flexing her lyrical aptitude and natural gift for rhythms and flows. Judging by the path she’s been set on, J-Onyx is hurtling toward stardom – and fast.
