Singer-songwriter and actor, OpenSoul, releases his latest R&B offering, “Differences”.
Living in Negril in Jamaica, OpenSoul has a passion for entertainment. With a steady release of singles since 2019 including “Hold Steady” and “Scarred Hearts At War”, the multi-talented performer has also featured in Netflix’s reboot of ‘Top Boy’, where he played Ashley Walters’ cousin.
Kicking off 2021 with some fresh music, OpenSoul has returned with his new track “Differences”. A modern take on the classic love song, “Differences” is filled with sweeping organs, underlaying plucked guitars in a swinging half time groove and stylish background harmonies sung underneath. OpenSoul’s ornamented and skilled vocals twist and turn in time.
“Differences explores the things that give each person in a relationship their individuality, yet brings them together,” OpenSoul explains. The accompanying video adds to the charm of the track. Set in an abandoned theatre, it involves OpenSoul singing to his muse, a ballerina dancing on stage, with the lighting magnifying the connection between the two.
OpenSoul is creating music as a form of personal expression that resonates with himself, as well as providing a sense of catharsis at times.
