Stockholm’s VELVET MOON returns with a synth-pop dreamscape drenched in '80s nostalgia in the form of Endless War In the Summer.

Stockholm trio VELVET MOON make their luminous return with Endless War In The Summer, a richly emotive fifth studio album that dances boldly between vulnerability and defiance. Dropping via Argle Bargle Studios, the LP unfurls like a slow-motion strobe light, flickering between glittering romance and societal unrest. At the centre stands ‘This Time (It’s Forever)’, a euphoric, slow-burn anthem soaked in gated reverb, boxy drum loops, and Sandra Bjurman’s crystalline vocals – equal parts longing and resolve. Think Chappell Roan and Eurythmics wandering the same neon highway.

VELVET MOON have always lived in the in-between: indie darlings with mainstream appeal, their music has soundtracked TV spots, earned Spotify virality, and filled festival stages across Europe. Yet this record feels more introspective. Written and self-produced by the band, then polished by Johan Kronlund (Veronica Maggio) and Björn Engelmann (ABBA), Endless War In The Summer is both a love letter and a reckoning. Influences like War on Drugs and Fleetwood Mac pulse through the record, but the group’s palette – lush, intimate, cinematic -elevates it.

With lyrics that linger and production that pulses, VELVET MOON tap into a generational ache: yearning for love, searching for peace, and dancing through the chaos. Endless War In The Summer is a mirrorball manifesto.
