Former frontman of Belfast punks The Twenty, Colm Warren, brings an elegantly orchestral twist to a Guns N' Roses classic.

Colm Warren, best known for fronting Belfast-based alternative punk band The Twenty, is well and truly back. Having spent a period of time away from music in recent years, the Derry-born rocker has returned to give the epic Guns N’ Roses track, ‘Estranged’, his unique treatment of stormy rock ‘n’ roll and airy symphonic arrangements.

Re-emerging in the past few years after a period of soul-searching, Colm has taken his sound in a much more emotional direction. Those who have been privileged to stumble across the Irishman’s catalogue have attributed nothing but praise, particularly with the track, ‘Truth’, a duet with Maeve Smyth, which was described as “spine-tinglingly intimate” by Hot Press. This led to a triumphant collaboration with the RTE Concert Orchestra at Dublin’s National Concert Hall.

For this latest single, Colm pays tribute to a song that has affected him deeply ever since his adolescence with his trademark unconventional compositions and raw punk sounds. Working this time with the F.A.M.E.S. Macedonian Symphonic Orchestra, led by John Byrne, he makes subtle nods to the song’s Guns N’ Roses origin whilst making it totally his own.

As he continues to use his musical ability to reflect on themes which are both challenging and deeply personal, Colm proves himself as an artist with integrity.
