On his debut EP, Figuring It Out, Benjamin Steer turns the chaos of your twenties into something tender.

Benjamin Steer’s debut EP Figuring It Out feels like a coming-of-age story set to music. Across five tracks, the fast-rising singer-songwriter lays bare the beauty and heartbreak of your twenties, the moments when you are certain you have found the answers and the nights when you realise you are still searching. From the breathless infatuation of ‘Oh Darling’ to the aching reflection of ‘Sweat Off Our History’ and the gut punch honesty of ‘No One Wants To Die Alone’, Benjamin captures the push and pull between romantic optimism and the reality of growing up.

Raised in Washington D.C., before moving to Scotland to study Economics at St Andrews, Benjamin began writing music as a way to survive the long, grey winters. One early song, ‘Muted Colours’, unexpectedly changed everything when it caught the attention of label heads online and led to a record deal. In that moment, a career path that once pointed toward New York’s corporate world shifted toward London’s music scene, and a dorm room passion became the foundation for a new life.

Since then, his rise has been steady and undeniable. This year alone has seen him sell out his debut London headline show at The Grace, support Myles Smith, Kingfishr, Calum Bowie and Texas, and prepare for a full run of sold-out UK tour dates with Arthur Hill. He has also made his mark internationally with performances at Sound of Nashville, Reeperbahn Festival and a string of European venues.

What sets Benjamin Steer apart is the quiet confidence in his songwriting. His work balances artistic clarity with emotional openness, offering a kind of cinematic intimacy that feels instantly relatable. Figuring It Out is both a snapshot of where he is now and a promise of what is to come, the sound of an artist turning uncertainty into something worth holding onto
