To celebrate his new single, “B22s”, we chatted with S Dog about his musical firsts, from feeling starstruck by Toddla T to his first track with P Solja.

Whether you’re a DJ, clubber, or simply a music lover, the chances are Bradford-hailing S Dog’s new banger, “B22s” is bound to get you down and skanking. An ode to the artist’s favourite kicks, the Christian Dior B22, this bold, genre-defying single lands with high-octane flow, club-honed MC stylings, and S Dog’s signature witty bars. He’s joined forces with Toddla T, Sheffield’s own production mastermind, to deliver a room-shaking beat and an onslaught of heavy bass-quakes. In essence, “B22s” captures the magic of British club music, each bar revealing a new element of the Northern club culture that only this Yorkshire duo could get away with.

The release follows on from “On Heat”, which was created in collaboration with the legendary DJ Q. Staying true to local tunes, the duo sampled Unique 3’s 1990 hit, “Rhythm Takes Control” – one of the original tracks of the dance sub-genre known as ‘bleep-house’, which established disciples in everyone from Pete Tong to Derrick May. “On Heat”, and “B22s” will both feature on S Dog’s forthcoming EP, titled ‘Estate Royalty’ – a five-track work entirely produced by Toddla T.
