Ghetts gives back to his community and hometown by building a recording space for artists to continue working on their craft.
Continuing the celebration of Puma’s Suede Classic re-launch, East London bred rapper Ghetts and Puma have built a music studio space that will give young musicians and emerging talent the opportunity to continue creating during challenging times.
Pioneers of today’s creative scene will also have the chance to record new content in the studio over the next 6 months. All taken from Spotify’s Who We Be playlist, names will include the online radio platform No Signal, rappers Big Tobz and Shaybo and artists Jaz Karis and KNUCKS. Also utilising this space is one of Spotify UK’s major podcast group, 3 Shots of Tequila, who will be mentoring young creatives looking to make a start in podcasting.
Christening the launch of Suede Music, Ghetts has recruited two emerging Black rappers from his hometown of Newham to record a new track named after the location.
Speaking on the track, Ghetts said: “We’re three generations of Newham and our perspectives may differ but that’s what we want to get across on this track. It’s a beautiful moment and to have the opportunity to unite on a track like this is special. It’s important to see other people winning from where we’re from, because that seemed so far away at one point. We have the power to inspire people and I can only hope I inspire the next generation of talent making waves in the music industry, like I did”.
Be sure to keep an eye out for the projects that will emerge from Suede Music because you wouldn’t want to miss it!
