Glen Trapz lets it all loose on the wild and carefree attitude of “SKYFALL.”

“SKYFALL” features a taut funk and piano-led four-to-the-floor spirit that demonstrates Trapz’s uncanny ability to get the party started. Volume is a must because this is a genuinely physical sound. One can sense the walls shaking with every hit of the beat. Going for a relatively retro sound, the clipped sample balanced on the drum kick is a very nice touch. Additionally, he brings just the right amount of funk into the mix, further adding to its sense of community. Entirely and carefree, it harkens back to Daft Punk’s roots.

The buildup on here goes back to house’s very roots. He displays quite a bit of patience here, and the giddy vocal hook starts things up. Elements of glitched-up effects help to propel the sound forward. Atmosphere is of the essence because it feels liberating when the beat finally drops. Melodies filter in and out of the fray. Moments of it go even harder than house, even incorporating elements of rave into the hearty brew. Best of all, every single moment matters. He captures that wild freedom that defines what the dancefloor stands for. Little details go a long way – from the finger snaps he brings to add to the playful style to the sudden breaks for dramatic tension. It all works, and he brings dance and pop into this spellbinding sound.
