Embracing a European pop vibe, Jay Hofman releases his latest single, 'Good Kind (To Me)' to guide you through the summer months.
Manchester-hailing, electro-pop artist Jay Hofman takes inspiration from a holiday to the Costa Blanca, infusing that summery feeling and beachy atmosphere into his latest track, ‘Good Kind (To Me)’. Featuring dynamic vocalist Voilàh, the song has a more playful tone than his earlier releases. He only talks good vibes, tapping into the moments of joy he experienced while on a holiday in Denia, Spain. The single is also taken from a highly anticipated forthcoming album, Commentarium de Paradiso, which translates to, “Commentary on Paradise.”
A lively dance tune and some uplifting vocals are just what you need to get you through the mid-year months. Whether it’s gearing you up for a trip abroad or staying at home in the backyard, Jay’s newest track has bouncy, melodic synths and punchy 808s to get you in the groove. After sharing comparably darker electro-pop tracks with the world, he wants us to chase the euphoria experienced when the sun is shining and you find that special someone you could spend the rest of your life with. Encountering Voilàh whilst on his travels to the Spanish coast, Jay felt compelled to include her in his newest single, taken aback by her stark vocal range and whimsical delivery.
Jay’s musical journey began in 2011, when he started releasing underground demos to niche streaming platforms. He soon built up a cultish following captivated by his deep and sonorous electro-cum-indie pop influences. A year later, he released his debut single, ‘Easy to Say’, before experimenting with a myriad of genres and garnering critical acclaim from across the globe.
On the new track, Jay comments: “Writing this song was a spontaneous burst of creativity. It came together in just five minutes, but I wanted to enhance the song by inviting Voilàh to feature on it after meeting her at the dance show. Her unique style added a whole new dimension to the track, and I’m thrilled to have her feature on it.“
