Rising pop folk artist Nosila drops the video for his latest single, 'Halfway'.
Back with a new single and vibrant music video, ‘Halfway’ marks a significant moment in Nosila’s journey, showcasing South Australian multi-instrumentalist Simon Hatch’s ability to blend heartfelt storytelling with evocative melodies.
For Simon, the Nosila project is deeply personal, inspired by the memory of his sister, Alison. Over the past four years, he’s channelled his experiences into music that explores mental health and emotional complexity. With over 100,000 streams to date, Nosila is steadily carving out a place in the industry.
‘Halfway’ begins with a serene ambient intro, gradually transitioning into soulful acoustic guitar and heartfelt vocals. The song builds through a lush pre-chorus to an anthemic climax, featuring a powerful bridge and an electrifying guitar riff. Mixed by Stefan Du Randt, known for his work with Mac Miller, and mastered by Andrew Edgson, the track boasts a rich, layered sound.
The accompanying music video, filmed in the beauty of Bali, captures Nosila performing in breathtaking locations, evoking a sense of escape. “The inspiration for the video came because it’s my favourite place to stay in Bali”, Simon shares. “It’s a surfers shack (I’m not a surfer) that takes about 5 minutes to walk down to a rock mountain/cliff edge. It’s completely secluded and isolated (monkeys are the biggest issue). It’s one of the best places to feel like you’ve escaped the outside world. The feeling evoked from being there really matched the meaning/feeling behind the song.”
With its blend of gentle classical guitar pop and electrified rock elements, ‘Halfway’ showcases Nosila’s unique sound and emotional depth. As Simon continues to navigate themes of anxiety and personal growth, he’s ready to take the world by storm.
