Tamta drops 'HELLO KITTY', a euphoric hyper-pop daydream that softens power with vulnerability on her bold concept album, THE VILLAIN HEROINE.
Tamta’s latest release, ‘HELLO KITTY’, is a sparkling, synth-soaked love letter to vulnerability, nostalgia, and femme power. The lead single from her audacious concept album THE VILLAIN HEROINE, it sees the Greek-Georgian pop icon embrace a hyperpop-J-pop fusion that’s as sugary as it is subversive.
Produced by TEO. x3 (Bobbi Arlo, Prada), ‘HELLO KITTY’ offers a glittering contrast to the shadowy experimentalism of Tamta’s earlier EP, The Villain. Here, she leans into a lush, luminous, and emotionally disarming sonic palette. Wrapped in neon synths and bubblegum hooks, the track pulses with both joy and introspection, capturing what Tamta calls “the feeling of reminiscing on when things were easier.”
It’s this duality, strength through softness, power in reflection, that anchors THE VILLAIN HEROINE, a full-length narrative formed by the fusion of her two concept EPs, plus two bonus tracks and a reimagined remix. Tackling themes like cancel culture, self-reliance, and pop’s shifting persona politics, the album redefines Tamta’s role in the alt-pop cosmos – somewhere between Charli xcx and FKA Twigs, with her own unmistakable glitter-punk sensibility.
With 250 M+ streams and a visual world spanning Vogue shoots and underground club residencies, Tamta is in a lane all her own. ‘HELLO KITTY’ is both a sonic wink and a self-love anthem: stylised, emotionally sincere, and unapologetically feminine.
