Downfvll returns with his new single, 'Hellos and Goodbyes', blends dark pop, phonk, and orchestral sounds to explore grief and resilience.

Paris-based music project Downfvll, led by producer and rapper Maeldan Wilmet, has unveiled his latest single, ‘Hellos and Goodbyes’, a mesmerising blend of dark pop, phonk, rap, and orchestral influences. Known for his ethereal yet grounded soundscapes, Downfvll continues to push creative boundaries, offering a hauntingly introspective track that explores the complex emotions of grief and the strength needed to overcome it.

With a sound that effortlessly merges melancholic melodies with futuristic beats, ‘Hellos and Goodbyes’ takes listeners on a sonic journey, capturing the rawness of the human experience. With influences from the likes of Sevdaliza, NF, and Woodkid, Downfvll’s newest release showcases his unique ability to craft atmospheric tracks that fuse poignant storytelling with innovative production. The single reflects the artist’s love for blending orchestral elements with modern genres, creating a mood that evokes both nostalgia and hope.

In reflecting on the song’s origins, Downfvll explains, “It’s a song about grief and overcoming it – what it means for those who survive. I wanted to merge dark pop with a futuristic phonk vibe, inspired by artists like Woodkid who combine orchestral music with contemporary sounds.”

Since his debut in 2018 with ‘Amaterasu’, Downfvll has garnered attention for his emotionally rich lyrics and genre-defying approach. ‘Hellos and Goodbyes’ is a must-listen for fans of deeply personal music with a forward-thinking sound.
