Emerging artist Nissi continues her climb to stardom with empowering anthem, “Higher”, out now.
After opening for Burna Boy earlier this month at his sold-out London Stadium show, fast-rising Nigerian artist Nissi has just released her infectious new offering, “Higher”. Through powerful lyrics and vibrant melodies, she delves into self-belief and resilience, all the while drawing from her own personal experiences. A true multi-hyphenate, Nissi encourages listeners to embrace each stage of life and give their all to reaching their end goal.
Speaking on the inspiration being ‘Higher’, the London-based musician explains, “This song is a song of strength to celebrate the human spirit, an anthem for anyone who has ever dared to dream and pushed beyond their limits. I want listeners to feel empowered and inspired to rise above any obstacles they may face in life. ‘Higher’ represents my personal journey, and I hope it resonates with others as well”.
What’s more than Nissi’s music though, is the person behind it. A London-based singer, songwriter, fine artist, engineer and animator, Nissi’s music speaks to each component of her life. Passionate about women’s empowerment, she’s a firm believer that positioning women, including herself, as go-getters is the most vital step to switching the narrative of the limitations of African women.
She’s collaborated with the likes of Stromae and BackRoad Gee, with each tie-up bringing new experiences and people to connect with. And, coming up, she’s got a series of shows taking place both in Europe and the US. New fans from Norway to New York can catch the “Higher” singer this summer.
