Put your phone down and tune in to the newest single from indie starlet Naomi Jane, 'In The Moment', all about enjoying life to the fullest.
“Living in the moment isn’t a clichĂ©,” explains indie avenger Naomi Jane, “it’s a practice my generation is embracing.” With her new single ‘In The Moment’, the multi-instrumentalist is putting an end to the doomscroll and celebrating the things and people she loves IRL.
Having been brought up between New York (whose sidewalks she considers her first stage) and California, the fast-rising pop star channels her bi-coastal influence, theatrical background and fluency in piano, guitar and ukulele into an expansive yet intimate sound. Naomi’s catalogue already boasts 6.7 million streams, 200k monthly listeners and 150k followers and this has been achieved through the artist’s uncompromising spirit. As well as creating music that is true to herself and layered with meaning, she feels a social responsibility, having used her craft to push for more access in youth art programs and gun violence prevention.
On ‘In The Moment’, an elated pop R&B anthem with retro tinges in the form of mid-tempo guitars and shimmering synths, one can’t help but be engrossed by a lyrical prowess which has been compared to that of Joni Mitchell and Alanis Morrissette. The song encourages listeners to seize their youth before it slips away on the phone screen— and do it while dancing. “Let’s go insane out of mind, you and me so lovely,” she chants in the infectious chorus, “Baby, come and live in the moment, here with me.”
Music has always been the plan for Naomi Jane and she is making it her mission to create a shared space where we can all co-exist, leaving our own marks. ‘In The Moment’ is the perfect track to make you feel seen, safe and to dream big.
