Kara Marni isn't having any of it on her new single, ‘Move’.
Kara Marni seems increasingly destined for pop success. Having cut her teeth with a series of 90s R&B-inspired jams, she’s always stood out from the crowd with her staggering voice and willingness to embrace sounds from outside the normal chart spectrum. Case and point is her new single ‘Move’. Premiering on Notion, it’s a fierce, gently-disco inspired track littered with samples, squelching basslines and the kind of top line that will sink its claws into your head and never let go.
Inspired by an encounter with an ex on the Holloway Road, the whole track is one giant hair-flip, Marni musing ‘thought I would miss you, funny I don’t’ before declaring ‘I won’t let you ruin my day, move get out my way’. Speaking about the track Kara Marni said “Move is a song about that classic situation where ‘you don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone’, he realises what he’s missing, but you ain’t having any of it!” Listen to ‘Move’ below.
