The Istanbul-based brand offer up a collection that's brings the courts to the street at their new pop-up store.

Bringing the courts to the streets in his latest Spring/Summer 2019 collection, Istanbul based luxury streetwear designer Bunyamin Aydin has no doubt triumphantly unfolded the untold stories of international youth culture in his latest collection. Confidently translating the deep-rooted cultural influences and rituals into an element of prestigious comfort, Aydin pursues to illustrate multicultural ‘journeys of discovery’ to his streetwear concepts.

In his latest collection Road To Ball, Aydin looks eastwards towards Japan. Not solely due to his artistic obsession with their cultural aesthetics, but due to the love of basketball they both share. “Growing up as a kid, I played in two basketball teams and I always wanted to do a collection inspired by basketball.”

Heavily stimulated by the B.League basketball team, Aydin sets his unisex collection in Japan where he subverts the original design of classical streetwear, and fuses it with the formality of Japanese workwear. Built for on and off the courts, the collection exhibits a selection of pieces from kimono sleeved jackets to wide leg track pants, all featuring handcrafted knot details and an indigenous mixture of natural fibres. Some of our favourites include the cobalt blue gear, the red crossbody bag, and the drawstring pinstripe pants; ones to definitely make us shine on the courts or in the office.

Deconstructing fashion standards whilst creating a new perception for street and traditional heritage, Aydin invites us to express our creative freedom and personal narrative throughout this collection. Scoring a slam dunk at retail, you can find LES BENJAMINS freshest collection with a combination of  colourways in eight stores in China, online, and the new flagship store currently making an appearance in Istanbul. With a future collaboration with Puma on the way, LES BENJAMINS’ richly deep-rooted collection is one not to be swerved.
