After the release of her lauded third album last summer, Clairo brought the Charm Tour to London.

Taking to the Eventim Apollo stage for two headline shows last week, genre-bending American artist Clairo brought us her atmospheric Charm tour. One of last years best albums, it ushered in a new era with a funkily atmospheric alt-pop-soul sound.

Discussing that the project came from a place of reconnection with her identity and femininity, Clairo sunk into a world of seventies influence and playful experimentalism, and one that she brought us right in to at the live show. From the sunken sofa and the sparkling walls, to her wired headphones and mic, to the multi-instrumentalist skill of band member Hailey Niswanger, the show was as much a time warp as it was an innovation. Intimate despite the arena-size venue, Clairo commandeered the stage with ease and elegance.

From the fan faves of old like ‘Bags’ and ‘Sofia’, to the shimmering newness of stand outs ‘Juna’ and ‘Add Up My Love’, to the debut live performance of her band Shelly’s 2020 cult hit ‘Steeeam’, London was well and truly charmed.
