Reading artist and rising rapper, Songer, shares lead single “Love is a Lottery” in the run-up to his forthcoming EP ‘Skala’.
Songer is a 22-year-old wordsmith hailing from Reading. Having laid down the foundations of his work with his debut mixtape ‘Dream Workz’, the artist continues to drive his idiosyncratic vision through a variety of genres and is back with a brand-new release “Love is a Lottery”.
Hitting viral fame from his freestyles and mixtapes over the past four years – including a ‘The Sunrise Session’ freestyle for BL@CKBOX, which included a mashup of Britney’s “Toxic”, he has since worked on a handful of projects including collaborations with Bad Boy Chiller Crew and Vibe Chemistry, dropping three album-length projects and breaking the charts with the recent smash hit “Balling”. Having already amassed over 50 million organic streams, last year also saw the rapper take his artistry to new heights as he dropped his third mixtape, ‘The Sunrise Project’.
Now working towards his 2023 EP ‘Skala’, “Love is a Lottery” sees the first instalment of this project and is accompanied by a retro-inspired music video. Speaking about the track Songer tells: “’Love is a Lottery’ is about how complicated love can be but how I feel I’ve won the jackpot when it comes to relationships, with one girl in mind. It’s meant to be a playful and humorous description of how my relationship came about and how easy it is to get wrong.”
