Teasing their Spring 2023 collection, Heaven by Marc Jacobs’ Stray Rats collaboration is centred around multi-platinum selling band Deftones.

Taking centre stage in the fashion space with another coveted collaboration, Heaven by Marc Jacobs this week teased its forthcoming spring collection. Featuring a range of garments inspired by the legacy of nu metal band Deftones, the brand turns to streetwear stalwarts Stray Rats for a helping hand, who add their unique graphics to the mix.

A Miami-based label with origins in America’s various hardcore punk scenes, Stray Rats are a fitting choice for the capsule. The brand’s “ratgirl” type out is emblazoned over long sleeve tees, whilst Heaven’s dual-headed teddy logo features over several pieces. However, it’s the graphics from Deftones’ self-titled, ‘Around the Fur’ and ‘White Pony’ albums that steal the show. Stamped over hoodies, sweatshirts, knit wear and coach jackets, the synonymous 90s and early noughties imagery resonates with Heaven’s Gen-Z audience at a time where nu metal is making a formidable come back.

Shot by Exactitudes, who’ve worked with PinkPantheress previously, the lookbook features various Deftones fans mixed in with a few familiar faces, including JPEGMAFIA and frontman Chino Moreno. The band are performing a one-off free gig at an unknown location this week to honour the collection. Heaven will also be hosting an exhibition dedicated to the band in their flagship store from March 3th – April 4th.

Revelling in Y2K nostalgia, in September last year, Heaven tapped Charli XCX, Doja Cat and Pamela Anderson for a star-studded campaign. More recently, the brand collaborated with Kiko Kostadinov on a range of asymmetrical grunge skirts, t-shirts and v-neck knits.

The Heaven by Marc Jacobs X Stray Rats X Deftones capsule will be available to purchase from March 3rd.
