With their new single ‘Microwave Dave’ lighting up mosh pits and a UK tour on the horizon, Chub prove that punk is far from dead.

From the quiet coastal streets of Eastbourne to the blood-soaked pits of Bloodstock Festival, Chub are dragging punk kicking and screaming into a new era: louder, messier, and unmistakably theirs.

The four-piece formed in 2019 with nothing more than a few beers, a shared love of Tony Hawk-era soundtracks, and a taste for the unhinged. Fast-forward to sold-out Brighton shows and a trail of unrelenting singles, most notably ‘QUIT’, ‘Beer Bong Song’ and ‘Carolina Reaper’, Chub have steadily built a cult following that knows one thing for sure: this band doesn’t do half-measures.

Their latest release, ‘Microwave Dave’, might just be the group’s definitive anthem – a tongue-in-cheek ode to a possibly-mythical Wetherspoons regular, drenched in sweat, sarcasm, and the kind of punk attitude that only comes from years spent tearing up sweaty pub venues. “It ends every show,” the band tells us. “No matter how wild the set’s been, the crowd finds a second wind for Dave.”

And find it they will, as Chub gears up for a cross-country sprint this May, hitting seven cities in eight days, including a finale at Brighton’s Green Door Store. With a national tour, more music on the horizon, and a fanbase growing louder by the gig, Chub are a band you’ll brag about discovering early.

So raise a pint to Dave, lace up your boots, and catch Chub before they blow up. Their world is loud, fast, and a little bit feral – and they’ve only just started.
