Having taken home the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay, members at NeueHouse Madison Square and Hollywood were invited to private screenings of Conclave last month. The political thriller, which racked up eight nominations, is directed by Edward Berger. Ahead of the screening, screenwriter Peter Straughan, editor Nick Emerson and composer Volker Bertelmann sat down to discuss storytelling and the subtle mechanics of tension for NeueHouse’s latest Through The Lens feature.
Members in New York got to hear from the filmmakers in person at a post-screening panel with Bertelmann, Emerson, costume designer Lisy Christi, and producer Mike Jackman in conversation about the collaboration and craft that shaped the film.
