Australian genre-blender Milkah returns with a hyper-pop confession stitched from Afro-soul grooves, Spanish guitar, and Indian sitar.
Australian genre shapeshifter Milkah returns with ‘No Good For You’, a hyper-pop confession built on afro-soul grooves, Spanish guitar, Indian sitar, and an honesty sharp enough to cut glass. It’s a song that feels like dancing in the mirror with mascara running; radiant and unflinching all at once.
Inspired by the friction between outer beauty and inner truth, Milkah leans into themes of womanhood, perception, and the male gaze. “Judgement and admiration all at once – years of pressure bottled up – this song was the breaking point,” Milkah shares.
Co-produced by Fred Irie and Jordy Fresco, ‘No Good For You’ moves between intimacy and euphoria. The last-minute addition of an Indian sitar threads through the track like a secret, its hypnotic tone anchoring Milkah’s feather-light vocal.
The accompanying video, shot in South Korea, channels Marilyn Monroe’s vulnerability and Monica Bellucci’s magnetism, framing Milkah in cinematic softness and sharp edges. It’s a follow-up to her breakout single ‘Golden’, which earned her first editorial playlist placement, but this time, Milkah’s not just arriving, she’s claiming space.
