‘GUILT TRIPPIN’ by Central Cee & Sexyy Red
After linking up on stage at the O2, Central Cee and Sexyy Red have released their highly anticipated collaboration, ‘Guilt Trippin’. It’s Cench’s first official release since his debut album, Can’t Rush Greatness, dropped earlier this year. Fusing rap with Afro-swing, and a touch of Amapiano for good measure, the track is a high-tempo, summer-soaked tune, perfect for parties.
‘time to go’ by Loyle Carner
Just in time for his headline appearence on Glastonbury’s The Other Stage, Loyle Carner reminds everyone why he’s the UK’s hip-hop darling with his new album, hopefully !. The record is arguably his most honest to date, as he wrestles with a changing world and where he might fit within it - summarised best on the single ‘time to go’, where he poignantly asks,
‘Just Can’t Wait’ by KOKOROKO
A new taste of their upcoming album Tuff Times Never Last, ‘Just Can’t Wait’ is a soulful journey through memory, reconciliation, and reconnection. Experimenting with the sounds of Brit funk, ‘80s jazz, and Ghanaian music, the single is a melting pot of influences, which have got us hyped for the new record.
‘Victory Lap’ by Fred again.., Skepta & PlaqueBoyMax
Skepta’s collaborative streak has seen him hop on numerous tracks with buzz-worthy UK DJs. Following ‘Cops & Robbers’ with Sammy Virji, ‘Victory Lap’ sees Fred again.. tapping the prolific rapper for the algorithm ruling new single, which has already gone viral on TikTok. They originally debuted the track on a Twitch stream in New York before throwing a pop-up rave at the Brooklyn Paramount later that night.
‘The Jamie Oliver Petrol Station’ by CMAT
‘The Jamie Oliver Petrol Station’ is a satirical track, following the release of CMAT’s viral ‘Take A Sexy Picture Of Me’. “The whole point of the song is actually my annoyance and intolerance and hatred of other people serves absolutely no purpose in my life and is a really bad instinct that I have. So it’s actually a love song for Jamie Oliver, if you think about it,” she explains in the sort of way only CMAT does.
‘S.M.O’ by Amaarae
Announcing her highly anticipated album BLACK STAR, Ghanaian-American artist Amaarae brings the atitude-fuelled new single, ’S.M.O.’. Blending pop, R&B, and Afrobeats, the song explores themes of sexual liberation and empowerment; the track is bold and unafraid to tap into the taboo. An anthem for summer boogies, Amaarae proves yet again why she’s right at the top of everyone’s feel-good playlists.
‘Hammer’ by Lorde
Lorde is the gift that keeps on giving. With “Lorde Summer” underway, ‘Hammer’ becomes the latest brooding and melancholic track in her discography, defined by its disorientating instrmental and hyperpop influences. Featuring shimmering synths and distorted beats, this is a slightly new sound for the New Zealand singer, and we’re so here for it!
‘Close to you’ by PinkPantheress
Fresh from the release of her latest mixtape Fancy That, PinkPantheress has dropped another standout track, ‘Close to you’. A true blend of genres, the Bath native proves again that her music cannot be confined to a label. Rooted in the sounds of UK club culture, she consistently creates tracks that are completely in her own lane.
‘Plastic Box’ by JADE
JADE is making her return with ‘Plastic Box’, an electro-synth-pop track that cements the artist’s signature sound. "Plastic Box is about that irrational and toxic insecurity within us… It’s a happy-sad pop song and one of my favourite songs I've ever written,” she explains. The single comes alongside the anouncement of her debut solo album, That’s Showbiz Baby.
‘Cheeky’ by The Dare
We get it, The Dare, you’re a ‘Cheeky’ lad! We don’t need a new single to tell us that, although none of us are complaining. Unfiltered verses and festered synths combine to create a fuzzed-up, ear fucking racket that only he could really get away with. If you’re looking to freak out this weekend, then ‘Cheeky’ might just be the answer.
