The Great Escape is turning up the heat for 2025, and it all starts with an electrifying Spotlight Show. On Wednesday, 14 May, legendary indie troubadour Peter Doherty will take the stage at The Deep End in Brighton, joined by an all-star lineup curated by his independent label, Strap Originals. Expect an unmissable night featuring the eccentric post-punk stylings of Warmduscher, the raw energy of Welsh indie-punks Trampolene, and a roster of fresh talent celebrating the release of Peter’s upcoming album, ‘Felt Better Alive’.
This special showcase is part of a major festival expansion. For the first time, The Great Escape will officially kick off on a Wednesday, extending its program to four full days of cutting-edge music. Doors open at 5 PM on 14 May, with venues across Brighton hosting some of the most exciting new artists from around the globe.
Adding to the anticipation, The Great Escape has confirmed the return of The Road to The Great Escape showcase, bringing rising stars to Glasgow’s King Tut’s on 9-10 May and Dublin’s Whelan’s on 12-13 May. If that wasn’t enough, the festival has just dropped a jaw-dropping 120+ new names to the lineup. Highlights include boundary-pushing rapper Jordan Adetunji, queer industrial-pop provocateur Lynks, high-energy indie crew The K’s, and Australian post-disco maestro Donny Benét.
With over 450 emerging artists, 35+ venues, and thousands of music fans descending on Brighton, The Great Escape 2025 is set to be its biggest yet. Tickets start from £81.24—secure yours before it’s too late!
