Top Boy star and rising artist, Theo Ogundipe, bounces back with his first track of the year, “Plato Freestyle.”
Nigerian born, Theo Ogundipe is a rapper and actor bringing a fresh face and taste to both scenes. A hip-hop artist on paper, Theo re-defines his craft through an eclectic range of genres. Melding the rich sounds of R&B with soul, Theo amplifies that his sound cannot be defined by one label.
Having previously studied ‘Musical Theatre,’ at the Brit School and ‘Acting’ at Mountview Academy of Performing Arts, Theo is equipped across many spheres of the creative industry. Bouncing back after the release of his 2021 self-produced project, “Reworks,” “Plato Freestyle,” sees the rapper punch back with fiery lyricism and a cutting-edge composition.
Speaking on his latest, Theo tells: “It’s a declaration of intent, purpose and autonomy”. A dark and twisted track, “Plato Freestyle,” sees the rapper spit raw lyricism about the racial violence of George Floyd’s murder and more. Stood as the first taster of his self-produced debut EP ‘IN TRANSIT’, “Plato Freestyle,” gives old and new fans a glance into Theo’s versatile delivery.
