Rising singer Lily Lane has dropped her new EP 'Queen of Hearts', a seven track project brimming with pop-perfection.
Born in Boston but now based in Los Angeles, Lily Lane was born to entertain. The artist has recently unveiled her sophomore EP ‘Queen of Hearts’, a project offering seven soul-infused pop anthems inspired by Motown sounds.
Lily was born into a musical family, her older brother being one half of the multi-Grammy nominated duo, Sofi Tukker. She spent many of her adult years in New York City, studying at Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music alongside peers such as Fletcher, Topaz Jones and Maggie Rogers. Alongside adding model to her career repertoire, since Lily’s first release in 2014 she has continued to evolve musically and professionally. She’s found success in the sync space with landing placements with the likes of Pretty Little Liars, “Get Organized with The Home Edit!” on Netflix and numerous makeup advertisements, alongside an impressive slew of releases. She’s performed to sold-out audiences at the House of Blues in Boston with Big Time Rush, sung for the Knicks at Madison Square Garden, and played at some of New York’s most prestigious venues.
Lily’s sophomore EP ‘Queen of Hearts’ tells the story of a personal devastating heartbreak in 2020, with five of the tracks written with producer Taylor Sparks (Kelsea Ballerini, Azalea Banks) in his Los Angeles studio. Inspired by Mark Ronson and his ability to put a timeless twist on classic Motown writing, the project demonstrates Lily’s determination and the promise of her very bright future.
About the project, Lily explains: “Sometimes the loves of our lives are our friends or ourselves or our pets. Partners can let you down. They may betray you in the middle of a pandemic out of nowhere after 5 years but that is life and the way I dealt with it is this EP. At the beginning of this project, I was so caught up in my grief I thought it would end up a ballad-heavy super depressing downer, but this project turned into hopeful journey full of self-love, finding your chosen family, and knowing that love and life won’t always turn out the way you thought but maybe it can be even better.”
