Rising DJ duo CHAMOS select us 10 tracks that inspired their new EP From Erbil To Amsterdam, featuring music from Omar Souleyman, Conducta, DJ Plead and more.

‘Shift al mani (Crackboy Remix)’ by Omar Souleyman

This track was actually our first introduction to how a traditional West Asian song can be combined with electronic dance elements. Even after more than 10 years, it’s still an amazing track, and we love playing it.

‘Berzî Berzî’ by Naser Razzazi

As part of a remix series last year, we gave our own twist to this legendary Kurdish track. It went completely viral in both Europe and Kurdistan, and with Naser Razazzi’s approval, we were able to officially release it. It’s now part of the EP.

‘Gold’ by Conducta & BIJI

A super well-produced track, and this was the first time we discovered the power of BIJI’s vocals. This marked the beginning of our connection with them and became a foundation of our project.

‘Kinana’ by Rizan Said

It’s crazy how this track sounds so traditional yet so electronic at the same time. A staple in our sets.

‘QAAR A’ by Muskila

Super talented Kurdish producer based in Copenhagen, blending high-energy rhythms with UK breaks, rave, and North Kurdish timbres. This track is also a staple in our sets.

‘Gallop’ by TSVI & DJ Plead

We’ve been fans of both producers for quite some time, and when they dropped this project, we loved them even more so. It’s really inspiring how they blend traditional SWANA elements with electronic dance music.

‘Hydration’ by Ahadadream

One of the many amazing tracks by Ahad. Really cool how he combines traditional percussion with UK funky.

‘Goblet Drum’ by anyoneID

A super dope percussive track. An anyoneid remix of our ‘Chopi Riddim’ is ready, and we’ll be releasing it soon.

‘Basha’ by Hassan Abou Alam, ZIAD ZAZA, Ismail Nosrat & Aly B

A very dynamic track that shows you can create a super strong production with very few elements. Also some really dope vocals.

‘DALOONA’ by Saint Levant, 47SOUL, Shadi Alborini & Qasem AINajjar

This has been on repeat for a while. It's beautiful to see how two generations of artists from the Levant come together on such a strong production.
