Rising singer-songwriter Maisy Kay shares her top 10 tracks of the moment that she can't get enough of.
'Experience' by Ludovico Einaudi
This is one of my favourite tracks of all time. My co-writer played it for me almost 10 years ago and it changed my life, it’s still a track I go to for inspiration on a regular basis.
'Super Graphic Ultra Modern Girl' by Chappell Roan
This is such a feel good song. No matter what mood I’m in, putting this on always brightens my spirits and makes me want to dance!
'human' by Christina Perri
This is another song that really blew my mind when I heard it for the first time. This is one of those songs where I wish I’d written it, and the message has always really resonated with me.
'Higher Power' by Coldplay
This is one of my favourite car songs. I think it really encapsulates the joy and excitement of being in love with someone and how it makes life feel, and I get transported to that place every time I hear this song.
'Don’t Stop Me Now' by Queen
I love so many Queen songs, so it’s hard for me to pick just one. I chose this one because my Dad and I used to play it in the car when he’d drive me to school and I have fond memories associated with it!
'Guidebook To Healing' by Jamie Miller
I fell in love with this song after hearing it performed live. I think it’s an excellent take on the confusing process that is grief. I also adore the song from a writing perspective.
'loml' by Taylor Swift
This is the most I have ever connected with a heartbreak song. It felt like it was written for me! I think the lyricism and the pure emotion in this song is so powerful, and it really captures an adult heartbreak.
'In The Night' by Fly By Midnight
I have listened to this song on repeat so many times. It’s my favourite night-time song to play.
'When - Live' by dodie
To this day, this is my most played song of all time on my phone. This song was the number one most listened to song of my teenage years. I think the fear of growing up and feeling like you’re stuck in the past is something I’ve always struggled with. I’ve listened to a lot of songs since but it’s still my number one!
'Technicolor Honeymoon' by Maisy Kay
For my own song choice, I had to go with 'Technicolor Honeymoon'. This song was such a pivotal moment in my career. I had always said when I was younger I felt I couldn’t write melodies, or a catchy “pop” record. For me, this song is that and I know younger me would be so proud of my journey as a writer.
