One of the greatest minds in the music industry, Mr Hudson shares his top 10 tracks ahead of the release of his pivotal new album, "WHEN THE MACHINE STOPS".
Modern renaissance man Mr Hudson makes a dazzling return as a solo artist with his new album, “WHEN THE MACHINE STOPS”. From the mind and soul of this powerhouse producer, songwriter and composer comes a beautifully downbeat and minimal soundscape that pairs gripping synth vocals with pop harmonies.
It has been 10 years since Hudson released a full-length album with his acclaimed 2009 EP, “Straight No Chaser”. The quiet power of his atmospheric new tracks brings an exciting distinctive sound to an artist whose art for the past 10 years has been as a musical shapeshifter, helping to mould the work of so many different artists including Janelle Monae, Kanye West and Duran Duran.
In contrast, with, “WHEN THE MACHINE STOPS”, this Birmingham artist embarked on a deeply personal journey, inspired by finding peace in solitude and his life as an artist in LA. Hudson explains that in many ways the album feels like a debut, as he’s never had such a fully hands-on approach to his work before. He mixed the whole project himself and listening to the futuristic tracks it is clear that he has truly found his sound. Reflecting on the digital and literal noise of the modern age, the meditative spaciousness of Hudson’s new music shows you don’t have to be loud to speak above the crowd. We caught up with Mr Hudson to find out the top ten tracks that have inspired him along his illustrious career.
