As Sally C brings back her burgeoning label Big Saldo's Chunkers, the DJ and radio host selects us 10 summer heaters to enjoy in the warm weather.
"Hold It Down" by 2 Bad Mice
I’ve been opening my sets with this banger recently. There’s a big jungle brothers sample and some breaky goodness. It’s great for a quick intro and looping to the next track.
"Thursday Night" by DJ Bone
Rolling, tribal-infused house with one of those catchy and slightly weird vocals that I love. DJ Bone for life.
"2 B Free" by DJ Deeon
RIP DJ Deeon. This is one of my favourite and most-played records of all time. It’s an emotional track for me, he’s such a huge loss for dance music. Originally released in ‘94, its rolling punchy drums with the first choice sample does it every single time for me.
"Medicinal High" by Niavasha
This is another great intro or build track. It’s moody and light at the same time with relentlessly perfect percussion.
"Human Condition" by Liquid Earth
I’m obsessed with this track and artist. Everything he makes is gold; this is one of my favourites. The “Let’s get this shit” vocal is so good.
"Supreme (Original Mix)" by REda daRE
I thought this was an old track when I first heard it. It’s got a breaky opening and a ’90s feel. But it actually came out this year. I’ve been rinsing it in my sets.
"Raise Your Hands" by Knuckleheadz
Yes, this is a big festival banger! I love Knuckleheadz, their drums are always on point. It’s got the siren breakdown of dreams.
"Hit It" by Sally C
This is a new one from me! It’s got a chunky bassline and rolling drums and is part of the third release on my label Big Saldo’s Chunkers.
"Sweaty Ride" by Asphalt DJ & Gzardin
This is a big proggy banger. It absolutely nails a big festival stage or a sweaty club.
"Get Down" by Edvvin
Yes, there are so many great tracks from this artist. This is a fast-paced roller, both simple and effective. It’s got a great vocal sample too. I play this if I go a little harder in sets.
