Norwegian-Indian DJ SUCHI selects us 10Trax that she played in new super Drumsheds this month for BICEP x The Hydra.
'U Won't See Me' by Rossi, Mystic Bill
A catchy groover that felt perfect to warm up the crowd with. I love the little textural percussions, playful vocal treatment and bassline in here.
'Sunset Dreamin'' by Locky & Mad.Again (Casey Spillman remix)
I've been playing this one loads in my sets. It’s got a low key, deep vibe, but it’s the acid bass part that hits at 03:09 which really gets me. I love how it goes from almost ethereal to this dirty, sexy groove.
'People Of The World' by Nyra
I had to drop this super fun Spice Girls edit by Nyra. How can you not like this?
'Minority Interests' by DJ Debauchery
Another one that I've play a fair bit in my sets. I love the big chords with the proggy, tech-housey elements. It's a big tune for a big room.
'Blue Oyster' by Sil (Richy Ahmend extended remix)
Banging release from 1992. It has a great bassline and a melody that hooks you in. I love the moments where the kid’s vocals come in.
'Jango' by Pluralist
I really love this release by Pluralist. Repetitive vocals and a wonky bassline drive the track, It’s so simple yet effective.
'Helix' by Amaliah
This one’s been doing the rounds for a while already, but another big percussive tune with a massive drop that worked perfectly at Drumsheds.
'Amor Extraterrestre' by BASHKKA
Rhythmic punchy drums and some solid bass work in this one with a great ravey build up.
'Seher' by SUCHI
A track I released last year featuring sampled vocals of the legendary Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. It's a minimal deep tech cut with powerful vocals and a bassline that cuts through a big room like Drumsheds.
'ITALIA NO RAVE' by KOKO
I closed on this one while I was being wheeled off stage, lol. It's another favourite of mine, sounding like a classic release from the '90s. Catchy melody, big strings, house vocals and garage drums... it’s a belter.
