Now, Deep Green has dropped a bouncing and yet fierce single “Bandz”, divulging a little bit of his personal life in its lyrics. To mark the release, the artist has shared 10Trax which have had a major impact on his life. Dive in!
"Christopher Walking" by Pop Smoke
"This one here was a game changer - he turned the average two stepper into a full time dancer without feeling a type of way. I rate Pop for that. He made dance cool again."
"Didn't Cha Know" by Erykah Badu
"This song takes me away from my reality and places me in a bigger frame of mind. I first heard J. Cole’s remix then went to find the original and loved it ever since."
"Ashamed" by Rick Ross
"This is one of those deep ones that you turn up when ya in ya car. Skippy flow and a serious beat selection both compliment each other. I can’t lie this tune inspired my “Trap Vs Pain” track."
"Talking Da Hardest" by Giggs
"This for me was a key game changer in the way we accepted the un-watered downside to the streets and in my eyes - this right here opened up the doors for a lot of people to really rap about what they wanted to without feeling the need to polish the reality that some of us witness and partake in."
"Picture Me Rolling" by Deep Green ft. Ruell
"Had to pick one of mine because still to this day this is one of my favourites. It shows how life would be if the dream of making it was to come true. It tells all the pain left behind and still is very relevant to my passion for music and wanting to make a change in the way I live."
"Come Through and Chill" by Miguel, ft. J. Cole
"I get a very chill vibe from this. Classical kind of joint that my pops would have played and even though it’s new-ish the vibe still takes me back to probably when I was a teenager chilling with a sweet one lol."
"Need It" by Migos, ft. YoungBoy
"Bringing 50 Cent’s "Get In My Car" beat, Migos and YoungBoy took this to a next level. I play this in the gym at least twice every session. The tracks full of energy and the guys bounce off each other in a natural way."
"Richer Than Ever" by Fivio Foreign and Rich The Kid
"The new flavour that’s got the game going mad right now and is up there with the Pop Smoke. Tracks like these make me want to perform and go wild on stage."
"How's It Goin' Down" by DMX
"This to me is and was a classic from the jump. DMX painted such a picture with words that you don’t even need a music video."
"Hold You Down" by Alchemist, ft. Nina Sky
"This is summer at its best. Perfect set up from the beat to the rapper to the soft female voice on the hook. When I hear this I got to zone out in more ways than one lol."
