Marz describes the creative process behind ‘Service,’ recalling how an impromptu freestyle session sparked the song’s genesis, creating a track which delves into themes of hustling and perseverance, with Marz’s raw delivery underscoring the authenticity of his experiences. “I was vibing, listening to some beats when this one came on, and I started to freestyle to it” he explained. “The first thing I said was, ‘I’m selling these packs for certain’, and I developed it from there. The beat is so hard and punchy I gave it a deeper tone to match. ‘Service’ is about trappin, being overseas and still getting service – meaning things are getting done; you’re still getting paid.”
