15-year-old pop-punker Kid Prexy drops rebellious single and visual, “Shooting Star”, out now.

It’s not often you hear of a 15-year-old teaming up with a Grammy-nominated multi-platinum producer, as newcomer Kid Prexy did with Kevin “Thrasher” Gruft (of Travis Barker and Machine Gun Kelly). Prexy’s a multi-instrumentalist who is about to drop his third major EP while still in his early teens. The upcoming oeuvre features lead single, “In My Head”, an emotional track with moody vocals and gritty guitar riffs, as well as brand new track “Shooting Star”.

Explaining the meaning behind the offering, the Baltimore-born prodigy says, “I wrote this song about that feeling of falling in love with someone the first time you see them.” It’s a vibrant, pop-tinged track with powerful vocals and the addition of the ukelele. Leaning into the storytelling he prides himself on, the lyrics shine with youthful, fresh-faced charm that reflects Prexy’s excitement for the industry before him.

From here, it’s onwards and upwards. He’s already amassed millions of streams across platforms, as well as an opening for The Kid Lario in Oklahoma. Following his emo-rap debut with ‘Broken Promises’ and lo-fi sophomore EP, ‘Lights in the Forest’, he’s now moving towards Blink182-inspired alt-rock with his third EP. And, with “Shooting Star”, it looks like Prexy’s done with trying genres on for size for a little while as he fully commits to his latest sound.
