Ben Hazlewood returns with 'Spiral', a cathartic anthem that confronts darkness with power and clarity.

Ben Hazlewood isn’t interested in surface-level catharsis. His new single ‘Spiral’ doesn’t just touch on mental health, it dives into it, turns it inside out, and rebuilds something stronger. It’s a fearless, slow-burning anthem that charts the emotional chaos of spiralling and the power that comes with clawing your way back up.

Written in collaboration with Austin Myles Grant and Lauren Little, and recorded in New York, ‘Spiral’ fuses swirling synths with driving percussion and Ben’s signature, gut-punch vocals. The result is cinematic and personal, loud without being showy; a track that leans into pain without glorifying it.

That tension, between vulnerability and defiance, sits at the heart of Ben’s work. Across three albums and a string of acclaimed singles, the Australian-born artist has carved out a space for big pop that still feels lived-in which led him to being crowned MTV’s The Freshmen winner.

The release comes paired with Ben’s continued activism. In honour of Pride Month, he’s launched a fundraising campaign for The Trevor Project, a charity providing suicide prevention and crisis support for LGBTQ+ youth.

On the track, Ben Hazlewood says: “After years of battling mental health challenges, music became my truest lifeline. At my lowest, I was caught in a spiral of self-destruction, heading toward rock bottom “scanned for exits I won’t walk through.” But I began to find the strength to face my trauma and do the work to turn my life “180 from a spiral.” Healing isn’t linear; it’s messy and hard. But like wildflowers growing through the harshest of elements, I’ve learned that I can thrive. “Spiral” is an intimate yet anthemic reflection of a fight born from the lowest lows, yet soaring with the empowerment of reclaiming life and strength.”
