Notion has teamed up with the national charity, Youth Music, and young creatives, to present 'The Higher Frequency' podcast. Listen to the fifth episode now!

Launched on 20th November, ‘The Higher Frequency’ podcast sees UK-wide creatives combine their skills to bring an exciting show discussing subcultures, stereotypes, and social issues behind today’s music.

Youth Music’s Next Gen programme launched in 2019, provides 18-25-year-olds with paid opportunities and campaigning for change. Recently, the charity announced recipients of its first Incubator Fund release, designed to improve access to sustainable music careers for underrepresented young people.

In Episode 5 of The Higher Frequency podcast: Beyond UK music’s London-centrism, presenter Fatima Rahouma looks at the impact the music industry’s London focus has on the rest of the country.

Fatima turns to her home city, speaking with Manchester soul/R&B singer [ K S R ] about his experience of making music outside of the capital. Meanwhile, correspondent Alys Parsons brings us to Wolverhampton, speaking to DJ and rapper VITAL about his journey to success, as well as Beatsabar Music Project who are nurturing Wolves talent from the ground up.

Grove returns from Episode 2 to speak about Bristol’s vibrant scene, showing us that UK music stretches far beyond London.

Produced by Tara Lily Klein.
