Notion gets an exclusive look behind the scenes of South London artist cktrl's new music video for this single "mazes".

South London-based multi-instrumentalist and producer cktrl (AKA Bradley Miller) has shared the music video for his single and Notion has been given a behind-the-scenes look.
Shot by director and producer Yasser Abubeker, the music video for “mazes” is a visually stunning piece of art. Showcasing the close bond between two young women as they go on a journey, speaking on the video, Yasser said: “The Mazes video is a love letter to my tribe, those of us fighting to exist and live authentically”.
The contemporary-classical new track features cktrl’s trademark saxophone throughout, as well as lo-fi electronic soundscapes that build. Speaking on the single, cktrl said: “It’s about loving out loud as well as the complexities of loving someone, the twists and turns are like a maze. Sweet sensations in treacherous places.”
Having built a name for himself through the alternative London club scene, cktrl has earned respect as a musician, producer and multi-instrumentalist. Kicking off his career in 2015, he’s released a trio of EPs, including 2020’s Robyn’, which provided a much-needed exploration of contemporary classical music from the Black perspective – spurred on by the overpowering feelings of heartbreak.

One of the only remaining original DJs on NTS, cktrl collaborated with his friend Duval Timothy on the ‘Robyn’ EP and has previously worked with Sampha as well as playing alongside the likes of Sango, Kelela and Dean Blunt. Throughout his career to date, cktrl has been recognised and heralded by fashion and film VIPs including Virgil Abloh, Bianca Saunders, Tremaine Emory, Nicholas Daley and Jenn Nkiru who recently secured him a cameo in Beyonce’s heralded ‘Black Is King’Cktrl also recently collaborated with menswear designer Ahluwalia for their AW21 collection, composing a bespoke score for the campaign.
