Cemetery Sun refuses to let us settle for 'normal' in their latest single; quite simply, everything is existential.

Sacramento-based alt-rock band Cemetery Sun is giving 2024 a powerful statement. Their new single, ‘There Is No Cure’, marks the beginning of an ambitious new project that delves deep into societal norms and personal introspection. The band, known for their unique blend of alt-rock and pop-punk, first rose to fame with their 2016 hit ‘Fake Love’, amassing millions of streams and cementing their place in the modern rock scene. Now, with their latest release, they’re taking their artistry to the next level.

‘There Is No Cure’ is deeper than its melody—it’s a reflection on modern-day society and the endless chase for material gains, fame, and time. The song exposes the falsehood of what’s often presented as “normal”, encouraging listeners to think critically about the societal structures that subliminally bind us. The band has woven their signature anthemic sound with poignant lyrics, creating a track that resonates emotionally while urging fans to take a closer look at their lives.

Lead singer Josh Doty describes the inspiration behind the track, saying, “The more I’ve been humbled by life, it’s made me realize that I have to let go of any ego I ever had and be a part of a bigger solution. I know humans tend to over-complicate things, but I think it’s as simple as just treating everyone you come across with kindness.”

Cemetery Sun’s is anchored by their ability to balance hope and darkness, a theme that carries through in ‘There Is No Cure’, The band’s goal has always been to serve as a beacon of light for their fans, especially during difficult times. Their tours with artists like Blink 182 and All Time Low, as well as performances at major festivals like Reading & Leeds and Download Festival, have only solidified their status and artistry.

With ‘There Is No Cure,’ Cemetery Sun proves once again why they remain a driving force in the alt-rock scene, pushing boundaries while keeping the message of human connection at their core.
