Hotly tipped Afro-fusion artist Kojoson releases his most heart-felt project to date, TOXIC FREEDOM, inspired by family grievances and his own journey of self-discovery.

Rising Afro-fusion artist Kojoson, originally from Accra, Ghana and now based in the US, has unveiled his highly anticipated debut EP, TOXIC FREEDOM. The six-track project showcases Kojoson’s unique fusion of Afro rhythms with Western musical styles, offering listeners a captivating blend of genres that reflect his personal journey and creative versatility. With each track recorded, written, and produced entirely in his home studio, Kojoson continues to solidify his presence as an artist to watch.

Speaking on the significance of TOXIC FREEDOM Kojoson reveals, “Music is like the clothes you choose for your ears. I believe everyone can enjoy the soul of every single melody, no matter the voice behind it.” He adds that the EP reflects the boundless ways in which music can evoke emotions and speak to the diverse experiences of freedom and its accompanying complexities.

The EP’s standout track, ‘AYO’, dives deep into Kojoson’s grief, inspired by the loss of his younger sister. “It’s about my little sister who I lost when she was about two years old,” he shares. “A family member was careless when taking care of her, and it cost her life. This theme echoes on a larger scale, too—people’s negligence and lack of care for others often result in chaos and tragedy. ‘AYO’ is for those who need to pause and reconsider their actions.”

TOXIC FREEDOM explores themes of love, loss, and liberation, encapsulating the emotional weight that personal freedom can carry. Kojoson’s introspective lyrics and genre-defying sound allow listeners to connect with his work on a deeply emotional level.

As Kojoson continues to carve out his niche in the music industry, TOXIC FREEDOM is available for streaming on all major platforms, inviting fans to embark on a soulful and thought-provoking musical journey.
