A weekly playlist sharing our pick of the best new music from the world's most exciting emerging musicians. You heard it here first.

‘Spit’ by BAMBII, BEAM and Lady Lykez

A leading figure in Toronto’s underground electronic scene, BAMBII’s abrasive way of combining dancehall, garage and everything in between has made her a global icon. ‘Spit’, with a helping hand from vocalists BEAM and Lady Lykez, encompasses all that we love about dancefloor music: debaucherous lyrics, industrial basslines and harrowing melodies that perspire like the mist of sweat rising from a crowd in a club.

‘Bikini’ by Nick León & Erika de Casier

Miami’s Latinx-infused club scene is making some of the electronic music zeitgeist’s most progressive dance anthems. On ‘Bikini’, frontrunner Nick León teams up with Danish vocalist Erika de Casier for a hyper-speed, electro-pop ballad.

‘FLIGHTS’ by JEMS!

JEMS! is the collaborative project between Oakland-born singer, songwriter and rapper Elujay and Baltimore-bred producer, J.Robb. After their underground certified album GEMS IN THE CORNERSTONE the duo returned this week with ‘FLIGHTS’, a buttery R&B single with a psychedelic breeze.

‘Touch’ by KATSEYE

Back with a bold second single, ‘Touch’ by KATSEYE reveals the group’s more sincere side. The six members elegantly combine their cadences and ponder the highs and lows of love, unafraid to share the deep wounds developed from past relationships.

‘Embellishments’ by SamRecks

If you’re a fan of this playlist, you should be fully aware of SamRecks by now. The rapper, whose wilfully nostalgic lyrics take you right back to the ‘00s, stretches his cadence over a visceral, Baille-infused trap beat on his new single, ‘Embellishments’.

‘crossfire’ by Ragz Originale

Ragz Originale doesn’t miss. The producer and singer has developed a distinctive formula for his dystopian Afro-rap and ‘crossfire’ hits all the same. Taken off a new project, Sweet Nothings, the single marks a less conceptual moment in the Tottenham-hailing artist’s career as he pushes his progressive sound into new territory.

‘levels’ by oreglo (IZCO & Reek0 Remix)

London band oreglo put the stems of their single ‘levels’ into the capable hands of IZCO and Reek0, who warp fluxes of jazz into a broken beat banger. The rapper’s undeniable cadence skips across the polyrhythmic madness, painting a picture of hazy summer evenings in the capital.

‘Horse’s Mouth’ by ladylike

Emerging Brighton band ladylike have put themselves on the map after touring with Lime Garden and Ugly. Addressing the struggles of everyday life through a candid lens, their latest single, ‘Horse’s Mouth’, combines elements of indie and folk, as sentiments like “I don’t need anyone,” ring out despondently across the instrumentation.

‘YAWA’ by Kasien & Cruel Santino

Linking up with Alté pioneer Cruel Santino, Kasien reaches for his smooth and sultry bag on the new single, ‘YAWA’. In Nigerian pidgin, the song’s title translates to ’trouble’, which the duo sense given their growing musical celebrity and all of the extras that come with it.

‘Yummy Yummy Yummy’ by Chinese American Bear

Signed to Moshi Moshi Records, Chinese American Bear are carving out their own lane by blending mando-pop with Western indie influences. ‘Yummy Yummy Yummy’ captures this cross-cultural intersection, as the duo draw on elements of kraut and psychedelia to make a sound truly their own.
