Karen Nyame KG’s productions have fizzed around the festival and club circuit for a few years now. Released on her Rhythm In The City imprint, RHYTHM VOL.1 provides four new Afro-centric heaters rich in polyrhythmic flicks and kicks. Our pick of the bunch? ‘Hold of Me’, featuring the unmistakable voice of TYSON.

One for all of you guitar music lovers, Honeyglaze have just released their self-proclaimed “poppiest song yet” in the form of ‘Pretty Girls’. Alcohol makes me feel sad / I want nothing to do with that” hums monotonously around the guitar riffs with a restless urgency, providing an earworm-worthy hook that’s hard to shift.

‘Shy Shy’ by System Olympia & P Nut

In P Nut, System Olympia has found the perfect voice to narrate her ‘80s psych-house productions. First, there was ‘Falling In Love’ and now we have ‘Shy Shy’, an infectiously breezy track that piles on some dancefloor pressure with its clean raps and wiggling neo-funk basslines.

Rosanna’s ‘Ten Times More’ is a fiery indie-pop anthem that fuses punk energy with the raw emotionality of a breakup. ‘Continuum 1’ by Nala Sinephro

Nala Sinephro is back with another subversive jazz odyssey in the form of ‘Continuum 1’. The composer, whose new album Endlessness releases on Warp next month, captures tranquillity on this meandering eight-minute celestial excursion, which features drummer Morgan Simpson and Ezra Collective saxophonist, James Mollison.

‘wish u well’ by Shower Curtain

New York is a hive for forward-thinking indie music and the next to burst out of the scene will undoubtedly be Shower Curtain. On ‘wish u well’, Brazillian-American lead singer Victoria Winter creates an echo chamber of early adulthood in her looping lyricism, which glazes swirling guitars and no-wave-like noise fuzz.

‘Believe’ by yunè pinku

Having recently signed to Method 808, yunè pinku is back with another four-to-the-floor heater in the form of ‘Killing Bee’. Painting a picture of several electronic styles, the track was born out of experimenting in the studio, taking her music down new labyrinths to create an effervescent soundscape.

total tommy’s ‘Real’ is a bona fide post-breakup anthem, which attempts to rationalise the reasons why it all went wrong. Driving indie rock and gothic textures illustrate an intimate portrait of love and despair, which the Australian singer relishes through her punkish tendencies.
