‘Silk and Velvet’ by Annahstasia
‘Silk and Velvet’ is the latest release from Annahstasia’s upcoming album, Tether, which is set to release in June. “‘Silk and Velvet’ is a nod to the 4th wall between performer and consumer. Dream and reality,” the artist explains. Obongjayar, Jason Lader, and Andrew Lappin are all set to feature on the record.
‘On The Wall’ by Lelo & Babyface Ray
Is there a rapper from Detroit more exciting than Lelo right now? You’ll struggle to disagree after listening to ‘On The Wall’ featuring Babyface Ray, which aligns both wordsmiths with an extraterrestrial trap beat. Lurking in your ears long after the first play, the single drops via the infamous imprint 10K Projects, home of Ice Spice, Aminé and many others.
‘Levantarse’ by Bambounou
Parisian DJ, producer and Bambe affiliate Bambounou is back with two stomping acidic house steppas just in time for festival season. ‘Levantarse’ is our pick with its dark and contorted drums rumbling below a whispering vocal sample. Get ready to hear this one ripping through sound systems over the summer.
‘Fun’ by Deki Alem
Ghanain-Swedish brother duo Deki Alem’s latest single ‘Fun’ is a dazzling fusion of ’90s rave, punk sensibilities and contemporary pop. The GRAMMY-nominated duo take inspiration from high-energy club culture, melding underground scenes to create a sound that is entirely their own. The duo spread their message through hard-hitting visuals and an authentic DIY ethos that anyone can get on board with.
‘Diamonds’ by Aziya
“Shiny things won't gain my respect when I'm building my own empire”, says Aziya when talking about her new single, ‘Diamonds’. We all like the finer things in life but the London-based producer is keen to not let them define her; the goal is much greater than anything so superficial. This is the first single since her mixtape BAMBI, experimenting with hyperpop textures while preserving her emo rock energy.
‘Two Alarms’ by AtticOmatic
Brighton-based AtticOmatic share ‘Two Alarms’ - the second instalment for their EP, Fold The World. “I guess the song is about slipping in and out of that dream world and the waking world,” shares band member Kamran Kaur. The five-piece formed in a house-share in Brighton and continue to go from strength-to-strength, receiving early co-signs from Nabihah Iqbal.
‘Before You Die’ by Roscoe Roscoe
After a three year hiatus, Roscoe Roscoe return to the airwaves with some mellow, psychedelic splendour that’ll put a pep in your step. On the track, vocalist and guitarist Charlie Read Clarke says, We felt sonically, the song had a special kind of energy to it and was a nice place to begin showing people our approach and ideas again. Guys, we’ll be keenly waiting to see where those ideas take you next.
‘Belly’ by Glizz
When Glizz goes in, it’s game over. On ‘Belly’, the rapper acknowledges the life he and many of his contemporaries glamourise and touches upon its harsh realities. Produced by BKAY, the single sees him puffing out his chest while flowing with that London drawl that’s so intrinsic to him.
‘Heaven’ by Pry
NYC duo Pry just announced their debut album, Wrapped In Plastic, releasing next month, hot off the heals of a dreamy new single, ‘Heaven’. Shoegaze-fuzz and driving nu-metal tones match seamlessly, making something that feels simultaneously nostalgic and forward-thinking.
