‘Mind’ by Fredwave
Hot off the press, Fredwave serves up another off kilter genreless masterpiece. Titled ‘Mind’, the track is his third of the year, following two songs on either side of the musical spectrum. What binds all these releases, however, is the Londoner’s mellifluent vocals.
‘Afraid Of Nothing’ by Rose Gray, Kungs
Rose Gray clashes music from all corners of clubland. On ‘Afraid Of Nothing’, she signs up global producer powerhouse Kungs for a feel-good EDM beat, which occasionally meanders into techno territory but ultimately leaves you in a state of euphoria.
‘Won’t Be Waiting’ by Moses Ideka
Following the success of his debut single, ‘Cast Out’, powerful London vocalist Moses Ideka returns with another graceful jam. "Don’t rush for the thrill, it’ll kill you," he sings sharply on ‘Won’t Be Waiting’, providing words of wisdom so profoundly at such a young age.
‘ANTISOCIAL’ by Feux
The final instalment of Feux's Max Mantra alter ego story is nearly upon us. ‘ANTISOCIAL’, the Mick Jenkins’ collaborator’s latest single, sees him spitting hedonistic hooks over a wavy and whirring trap beat. Directed by Owen Kasparian, the visuals are well worth checking out too.
‘Paradise Loop’ by DJ Swisha
New York’s DJ Swisha is back with a club-ready collection of dance music. Packed with chunky breakbeats and thunderous 4/4, ‘Assorted Flavors Vol. 6’ features something for the raver in all of us. ‘Paradise Loop’ stands out thanks to its cosmic rhythms and crackling drums.
‘Playin Dumb’ by YT
producer-rapper YT’s developed a knack for sampling modern rap classics for his minimalist g-funk sound. ‘Playin Dumb’ takes the melody from 21 Savage’s ‘ball w/o you’, moulding it into the rising artist’s tale of ignorance. ‘#STILLSWAGGIN’, YT’s new 10-track mixtape, is out now.
‘idontwannatry’ by joey maxwell
Today, Joey Maxwell finally released his grunge-inspired EP, 'don’t know how to feel about this’. Addressing his anxieties in soft vocals and on a bed of distorted sounds, ‘idontwannatry’ leaves an enduring impression, melting listeners into a suppressive state.
‘Promise’ by MPH
Producing UKG hits with a KAYTRANADA-esque twist, MPH is becoming a staple on the UK club circuit. Playing Glastonbury and Boomtown this summer, the talented dance music whizz has garnered support from Skream, Disclosure and Floating Points, who will undoubtedly be playing ‘Promise’ in their forthcoming sets.
‘meanie’ by Kayleigh Noble
Kayleigh Noble is calling out a ‘meanie’ on the lead single from her new mixtape, 'Just a Girl'. Letting the unknown lover in on her thoughts, the dreamy singer-songwriter covers new lyrical ground and continues to carve out her own lane.
‘FB TRAP’ by Natty Wylah
Natty Wylah’s latest EP, ‘WILLOWISP’, takes its name from a painting by the famous Jamaican artist John Dunkley. In folklore, a wil-o'-the-wisp travels through bogs and lets off an atmospheric light, which seems a fitting metaphor for such a swampy and unearthly project. ‘FB TRAP’ is our pick of the 5 tracks.
‘Wildin’’ by Maya Amolo
Beginning to make a name for herself with sprawling R&B soundscapes, Maya Amolo has become a breakout name in Kenya’s alternative music scene. In true Gen Z fashion, she collaborates with producers via the internet to create sad boi tunes like ‘Wildin’’.
